Vision & Mission

- We have qualified and trained teachers along with the founder, Nagashree, who ensures that every student irrespective of age, levels and background are given utmost care and guidance.
- The students have the privilege to fix classes with the teachers upon discussing each other's availability.
STAFF
Nagashree koushik is Bsc graduate from BMS College from Bengaluru, she started her artistic journey at the age of 19. She started her learning under Sri Anil V Iyer (Director of Shivoham school of dance) and continued for 3 years. Along with that she also performed various theatre shows with team Spandana under guidance of veteran actress Smt B. Jayashree. She is also trained in classical music under Guru smt Manjula, Gowri Vishwanath, Suma guruprasad. Karthik hebbar, Tirumale Srinivas.
She has done junior grade exams in both music and dance conducted by the govt of Karnataka.
Furthermore she joined Kalakshetra, she gained her detailed knowledge on adavus under Smt Indu Nidheesh. She furthermore gained her knowledge in both theoretical and practical aspects and its intricacies under Sri K P Rakesh. Later she was tuned and trained by Smt Nirmala Nagarajan and she presented her first kutcheri in Kalakshetra under her guidance.
She did her Master's from Annamalai University, Chidambaram.
She also presented her first solo in black box and continued performing every now and then.
With the blessings of Parents and Almighty- She started her own institution "Samyoga school of Dance" on June 20th 2022, which is running successfully.
She is a 'B' graded artist from Doordarshan.
A hardworking dancer, instructor and a yoga practitioner eager to work with students of all skill levels. Adept at building curriculum and tailoring lesson plans according to student's strength and weakness to maximum growth. To enrich student's lives with skills, perspectives and understanding enhancing their ability to dance and relate to experiences through dance. Also educate students with posture understanding, techniques, performance and choreography.
I’m roshini krishnamoorthy, started my Bharatanatyam journey even before my school life. My journey in bharatanatyam started with my Guru Sri Shyam Sundar, an alumni of kalakshetra and slowly my passion for this artform became high and I wanted to learn more about this art form. This thrive lead me to join Kalakshetra,a dream place for every dancer. My journey continued in kalakshetra like a small fish in the mighty ocean who is trying to reach the shore. I started learning every nuances in each adavus and i understood the pattern behind every adavus. I Gained more knowledge on theoretical and practical aspects under Guru smt varsha Akhouri and I was further tuned by Guru shri Suryanarayanamoorthy and Guru smt Sreedevi Jayakrishnan and i was finally sculpted by my guru smt Dr Nirmala Nagarajan and performed at kalakshetra under her guidance. After kalakshetra I was guided by smt Dr Radhika vairavelavan and smt Ambika Buch where i did many stage performances under their choreography.
Rather than being a performer, I always wanted to teach this beautiful art to the upcoming generation with its high value and essence. My teaching career started at Shadow school and Viveka nandha school. Then further worked as a part time instructor in srishti school of classical dance and nritta tarang school of arts. Later in May 4th 2023 i started my own school Kalāvatāra - the incarnation of art , which was a dream come true and successfully running the second year.
K. Jayalakshmi is a promising, committed young Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher from a native of Tirupati, but she have found a second home in Chennai for almost 6 years now, to pursue her dreams in the Art World.Dance has been an integral part of her life since childhood and soon she realized it was what she wanted to pursue professionally. She have been undergoing training for the last 19 odd years. She began her initial training in Bharatanatyam, at the age of 4, under Smt. Sasikala, faculty at S.V. Music and Dance College, TTD, Tirupati. In 2017, she joined the Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts, Kalakshetra Foundation for the 4-year Diploma in Bharatanatyam and successfully graduated with First Class. She finished her Masters in Bharatanatyam, from the Annamalai University with distinction. Since 2021.
She is also a B- Grade doordarshan artist and has given many solo and group performances.
